Spring 2013 Trend: Cargo Jackets

After seeing so many people wearing them this Spring, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a cargo jacket; and I love it! I was on the fence about buying one at first, but after seeing how cute they looked on people I though I would give it a go. My hesitation came from not knowing what I would wear it with, but now that I've got one I've discovered it really goes with just about anything. The two major colors of cargo jackets, olive green and khaki, are neutral enough to be able to pair with most other colors and not clash. I myself own a khaki one. There are also some adorable colored ones I've seen out there like coral and yellow too... Cargo jackets are not only sensible for spring in the sense that they are lightweight and great for those slightly chilly days, but they are pretty universal style-wise. You can dress up a cargo jacket with a lace dress or dress it down with a pair of shorts or jeans. Most importantly, these jackets are timeless meaning they are a great piece of clothing to invest in because they won't be going out of style anytime soon.

Spring 2013 Trend: Neon Pop

A pop of neon paired with a neutral color like grey has been seen everywhere this spring from bags to sweaters and even shoes. Because of the eye-catching effect this color combination has, it eliminates the need for dramatic prints or embellishments. Although the eye-catching effect is what this trend is all about, neon shouldn't overpower the outfit, but enhance it. This can be seen as trim to a shoe, a statement necklace or a even worn as nail polish. Because the trend is so broad, it gives you the opportunity to wear it however you would like without being limited to interpreting the trend a certain way. Whether you'd rather rock it formally or causal, the choice is yours. I've even seen some adorable Nike sneakers sporting the trend. Out of all the neon I've seen so far this spring, my favorite has to be the Fluoro bag from The Cambridge Satchel Company (retails for $190). The bag comes in neon green, orange, pink and yellow. This bag is not only trendy, but the classic shaped gives it a timeless feel that won't fall out of style anytime soon.
