Last Slice of Summer

Nearly at the one-month mark since senior year has started, friends and I found ourselves wanting to relish in the last bit of summer weather before fall officially hit Missouri. Sunday rolled around with 85 degree weather and not a cloud in the sky, so we hit the road in search of a supposed sunflower field a short drive from our university. Half an hour later, we found ourselves in the rural country driving in reverse through a field of corn trying our best to follow the path made by a tractor. As you may have been able to tell, things were not going according to plan. Just as we were about to head home and call it a day, we spotted this watermelon cart outside of a farm. Greeted by a friendly dog by the name of Rebel, we picked out a melon and decided since we were out of luck on the sunflowers, watermelon would have to do. We got one last slice of summer after all!
